Qi and Peace
Taiji on the Dock

"Life is like a river. The way of life is to flow with the current. To turn against it takes effort but the current will carry you if you let it. Float with joy and ease."

About

For quite some time I have been involved with the study and practice of qigong and taiji (tai chi). My daily practice has helped me work through the effects of Lyme Disease, kept me sane during Covid, helps keep me balanced as a caretaker, and improves my quality of life in ways too numerous to count.

What I want to offer here are explanations and links to my favorite practices. We all have different paths and I hope that my path can help someone on their path to the peace that comes from a life well-lived.

I have put together a channel on YouTube of my favorite videos for practicing on my own. Enjoy!

Practicing in Nature

You don't need a lot of space for gentle movement or meditation. That having been said, I love practicing outdoors and strongly recommend it, weather permitting. On days when I can't get outside I practice in front of my biggest windows.

Putnam Park

Putnam Park

Connecticut's Valley Forge. Revolutionary soldiers overwintered here in 1778-1779.

Saugatuck Falls

Saugatuck Falls

Beautiful trails with a cascade that drops a total of 10 feet.

Topstone Park

Topstone Park

Hiking, swimming, enjoying nature.

I am blessed to have a beautiful space in which to practice. I don't need to leave home to find peace.
